We are looking for more volunteers who can plan and participate in the activities that UNICEF's volunteers do in Lund. If you are passionate about children's rights, you want to participate in local projects / activities that strengthen children's rights and participate in an active voluntary organization in Lund, do not hesitate to contact us! It's free - but we'd love to have some of your time and commitment! Monthly meetings takes place once a month, other events and information to participants in the group are communicated, for example, through the group's Facebook page and via email. More information in English will follow.
When and where the assignment is carried out:
The starting point for the activities carried out is in the Lund area. Together in the group, you decide which activities you should carry out, which events you want and can attend and what is best for you to prioritize. Most assignments take place in the afternoon/ early evenings and occasional weekends because many volunteers are busy with studies and work during the day, but you can easily adapt to what suits you. There is great flexibility and the creative space is wide.
UNICEF's volunteer group in Lund together with Individuell Människohjälp (IM) in Lund is holding a project / activity where IM offers tutoring help for newly arrived women in Sweden who read SFI while UNICEF LUND plays with their children. The activity takes place on Tuesdays between 15.30-17.00 at the Library at Väster in Lund. We need to become more UNICEF volunteers who can attend this activity and play and care for the children when their mothers receive tutoring. You don't have to be available every Tuesday, but continuity for the kids is important. The children in question are between 4 months and 11 years old, and there is access to educational toys, as well as materials in the library.
The schedule for 2020, is being created and possibly there may be changes in time or day for the activity, but this will be communicated as soon as the schedule is ready.
