In Stockholm, Volontärbyrån works locally to strengthen volunteer engagement. By supporting associations and encouraging more people to get involved, we aim to make community organisations more accessible to people in the city.
In Stockholm, we run campaigns and outreach initiatives to encourage more people to volunteer. We also support local community organisations through networking events, training sessions, seminars, as well as ongoing advice and support for non-profit organisations.
In Stockholm, we offer two network groups for volunteer coordinators that meet a couple of times each term.
One network brings together volunteer coordinators from different organisations. The meetings focus on coordination, volunteer recruitment and volunteer engagement more broadly. Participants take turns hosting the meetings, with the aim of creating a network where experiences are shared and members can support one another.
The other network is a digital group for organisations working with older people, with a particular focus on issues related to involuntary loneliness.
We organise free workshops (in Swedish) for non-profit organisations, foundations and religious community in the City of Stockholm. Throughout the year, we offer several workshop opportunities and encourage two people per organisation to take part.
The workshops are usually held in person, and we provide lunch and refreshments. We also offer digital workshops.
Thanks to association grants from the City of Stockholm, Volontärbyrån has been able to carry out its local work since 2002.
