Find volunteers for your organisation
Volontärbyrån helps organisations connect with people who want to volunteer. On the platform, you can describe the support you need and get in touch with people who want to contribute.
Step 1/3
To search for volunteers, you first need to create a basic account. Once your account is set up, you can search for the organisation you represent to see if it’s already listed on the platform. If the organisation isn’t registered, you can add it.
To use Volontärbyrån’s platform, your organisation needs to meet our criteria. We review and approve organisations every weekday.
Once your organisation has been approved, you’ll receive an email and can start posting volunteer opportunities. Each opportunity is reviewed in line with our guidelines before it’s published. You’ll receive an email when your opportunity is live.
Feel free to share the opportunity in your own channels, such as on social media or on your website, to reach more people who want to volunteer.
Volunteers submit their applications directly through your listing. You’ll receive an email notification when new applications come in. You can then contact the volunteers who have applied.
Remember to respond to everyone who applies, even if you’re not able to move forward with all of them.
Volontärbyrån reviews and approves organisations and opportunities in line with our guidelines. Approved opportunities are published every weekday, usually the same day and no later than within 48 hours. To use Volontärbyrån’s platform, your organisation needs to meet our criteria.
An effective volunteer opportunity makes it easier for volunteers to decide whether the opportunity is right for them and helps you reach more people who want to volunteer. Here we’ve gathered tips on how to complete the different sections of the form when creating a volunteer opportunity on Volontärbyrån.
Choose a short and clear title that summarises the core of the volunteer opportunity. A descriptive title makes it easier for volunteers to understand what the opportunity involves and encourages them to read more.
How to write a good title:
A clear description makes it easier for the right volunteers to find your opportunity. Keep the text concrete and easy to read, preferably using paragraphs and headings.
When volunteers consider getting involved, they often want answers to three questions. Make sure your listing addresses them:
Describe how much time the volunteer is expected to commit to the opportunity, for example the number of hours per week, month or year. State whether there is a minimum commitment and whether the opportunity is flexible or arranged by agreement.
Also specify when and where the opportunity takes place. If it is linked to a specific location, it’s helpful to include the address and practical information, such as access to public transport or parking. This makes it easier for the volunteer to decide if the opportunity is right for them.
If you can offer accessibility adaptations, such as a hearing loop or an accessible entrance, you can use the accessibility checkboxes in the form when creating an opportunity. You can also use the free text field to describe how you work with accessibility and what adaptations or support you can provide to make it possible for more people to apply.

If you’re looking for volunteers for several different opportunities, it’s best to create one listing per opportunity. This makes it easier for volunteers to find opportunities that suit them when they filter on the platform. Including multiple opportunities in the same listing makes filtering more difficult and can also make it harder for you to find the right volunteer for each opportunity.
