About Volontärbyrån
Volontärbyrån helps committed people and non-profit organisations find each other. We do this by mediating non-profit assignments and by educating and supporting associations in matters of non-profit involvement.
Volontärbyrån helps committed individuals and non-profit organisations find each other. We connect volunteers with opportunities and offer training and support to associations on matters related to volunteer work and engagement.
Volontärbyrån is a non-profit initiative within Forum – idéburna organisationer med social inriktning. Forum works to strengthen the role of civil society in social development, both for democracy and for the welfare system.
Forum also runs Ideella jobb, a platform that lists vacancies and internships within the non-profit sector and connects organisations with people seeking meaningful careers.
Volontärbyrån was founded in 2002 by Amelie Silfverstolpe with the vision of making it easier for people to get involved and for non-profit organisations to find volunteers. The idea grew out of the need for a shared space where civil society organisations and engaged individuals could connect and turn engagement into action. Since its founding, Volontärbyrån has grown to become Sweden’s largest platform for volunteer opportunities.
Since 2002, Volontärbyrån has worked locally in the City of Stockholm to strengthen volunteer engagement, with a focus on the social sector. By supporting associations and encouraging more people to get involved, we aim to make community organisations more accessible.
