Do you want to make a difference for children when something frightening or difficult has happened? Save the Children is looking for people who are interested in engaging as Child Crisis Support Volunteers.

As a child crisis support volunteer, you help create a sense of safety and stability for children and families after crises or serious events. This could involve meeting children in a community where something has happened, being available for supportive conversations, or helping with activities that help children feel calmer and safer.

Right now, we are exploring whether there is interest in forming a local group of child crisis support volunteers in our association. We are therefore looking for people who want to learn more, participate in an information meeting, and potentially help develop this volunteer role locally.

You do not need to be an expert – the most important thing is that you care about children’s wellbeing and want to contribute when support is needed.

Minsta åtagande

This is primarily an expression of interest. If the initiative moves forward, volunteers may be offered an introduction and training in Save the Children’s child crisis support method. The role could involve: * participating in training and meetings with the volunteer group * being available to support when a crisis or serious event occurs * providing a calm and supportive presence for children The time commitment may therefore vary and will be planned together with the volunteer group.

När och var sker uppdraget

The role is connected to Save the Children’s local association and activities would take place in the local community when needed, Västernorrland. The first step is to express interest. After that, we may invite interested individuals to an information meeting where we will share more about the role and how volunteers can get involved.
