Paradecoordinator for Uppsala Pride 2026

Do you have the skills, time and energy to help the planning group keep track of things? Do you like being the spider in the web? Do you have any experience in event planning or coordinating? Are you good at working with transparency and communication? Do you have any knowledge about queer rights and want to help out the community?

As a Vice Pride Coordinator you will be:

Overlooking all the different areas
Double checking that everyone has necessary contact information and equipment
Making sure deadlines are being followed
Planning and holding meetings as well as reminding members of said meetings
Writing and answering emails
Checking in on the group members about their well-being
Networking with collaborators
Taking care of volunteers (up until the day of Pride)
A communication channel between planning group and UKK
And so much more!!!

Please keep in mind that this roll requires a significant time commitment and we want to ensure that everyone feels confident and prepared before stepping in. That being said, we have a larger team of dedicated planners, who are all here to help and support each other every step of the way. We look out for each other and no one has to navigate this alone.

Minimum commitment

As a Vice Pride Coordinator you will be in a team of 3 Pride Coordinators within the planning group, meaning you will work closely with: Rebecca Hiya! I’m 23 years old and I’m this years Pride Coordinator together with our dearest Maria! I’m new to the Pride planning group altogether. Outside of the role as coordinator I’m a student and a train conductor but I want to and plan to give this event all the love and dedication that it (and the people it’s for) deserves! Since I’m completely new I’m learning as I go and so far I’ve experienced a tremendous amount of support from the group as a whole! If you join the team, you can expect to get the same treatment, but this time from me as well! :) Maria Hi there! I am a 38 year old volunteer at RFSL Uppsala and Uppsala Pride. My journey with Pride started as a decorator, the year after I took on a bit more with being both decorator + Vice Coordinator, Last year I had the great honor of being Pride Coordinator which was very fun and such a good experience. This year I am taking a step back and gladly handing over the torch to Rebecca! I will stay on as Vice Pride coordinator this year for Pride and I will gladly answer any and all questions you may have. I am really looking forward to see what we can do this year. The assignment runs from the day you join us until the beginning of October! Pride Day is September 26th, but some things may need to be done in the days after the event to properly tie the knot of the event that is Uppsala Pride 2026.

When and where the opportunity takes place

Meetings, both in person and online, are scheduled throughout the course of the event planning, with the majority of work after the summer. Physical presence is required on the Pride Day, September 26th Location: UKK (Vaksalagatan 1, 753 31 Uppsala) Time: 10:00-04:00
