Kollaborativ Ekonomi Sverige

ACCESS IS OFTEN MORE IMPORTANT THAN OWNERSHIP

📣
Kollaborativ Ekonomi Sverige, or KES, is a non-profit organisation that works to help people use things, spaces and resources more wisely together.

🔫
You might need a drill for ten minutes, a tent for one weekend or skates a few times during winter. Not everyone needs to buy a new one. We can borrow, share, swap, repair or use things together. This saves money, space and natural resources.

🛠️
KES wants to reduce consumption that requires a lot of new materials, energy and transport. But it is not only about the climate. Sharing can also make it easier for more people to take part and create stronger communities.

🌱
We build partnerships between non-profits, municipalities, companies and people who want to change everyday life. KES organises talks, lectures, workshops and activities, and works to encourage more sustainable ways of living.

🗺️
One of KES’s main areas of work is SmartaKartan.se. It is a map where you can find local initiatives for sharing, reuse, repair and common use. These can include clothes libraries, sports equipment banks, tool libraries, bike kitchens and repair cafés. Smarta Kartan makes it easier to find alternatives to buying new things.

🏡
KES also runs the social work at Omställningslabbet in Frihamnen, Gothenburg. It is an open meeting place and workshop for sustainable change. People can build with reused materials, repair things, organise activities and start their own initiatives there.

💸
KES is funded through long-term public partnerships, licence agreements, operational grants and donations. In short, we want to make it easier to live well with less new consumption and more community.
