Become a Market Host during Medieval Week 2026
The Medieval Week on Gotland is the largest historical festival and folk-educational event in the Nordic region, with tens of thousands of history-interested visitors every year. This year's festival takes place from August 2-9 and has the theme of love. Medieval Week volunteers are needed everywhere and we have room for everyone, from happy amateurs to professionals - the most important thing is that you want and can participate!
As a Market Host, you make sure to welcome all visitors to the festival area - that is, the medieval market and the arena area. You check festival tapes and answer questions from visitors, as a market host you are often visitors' first contact with the festival.
The Medieval Week offers a fantastic community with camping, activities and a base camp exclusively for volunteers. Here we serve coffee, offer a quiet moment under cozy tents and socialize around the campfire.
Good to know:
- As a volunteer, you get access to the Medieval Week camping
- You get food during the shifts you work
- As a volunteer, you get a co-creator badge that gives you entry to the festival and a volunteer badge that gives you entry to concerts and more, subject to availability
We need you and look forward to your application!
