Become a volunteer with Trygga Boenden

Would you like to make a difference for children and families who have recently arrived in Sweden? Save the Children Sweden is looking for committed volunteers for our EU-funded national project Trygga Boenden (Safe Accommodation) at the Swedish Migration Agency’s accommodation centre, Soludden, in Härnösand.

More than 200 people, including children and families, live here while going through a period of transition and awaiting decisions from the Swedish Migration Agency. Many of the children have had to leave behind familiar surroundings, friends, schools and leisure activities.

Through Trygga Boenden, we create a child-friendly space where we offer activities that give children a sense of normality, safety and joy. We also work to strengthen parents’ ability to support their children in difficult circumstances.

As a volunteer, you will take part in activities at the accommodation centre twice a week, on Wednesdays and Thursdays, as well as when needed during weekends and school holidays. Activities may include play, arts and crafts, games, homework support, parent support, or other initiatives that help create a safe and meaningful everyday life for the children.
