Engineers Without Borders Sweden / Ingenjörer utan gränser

HEAD OF THE REFLECTIVE ENGINEER FOR EWB KTH

Are you interested in how engineers can contribute to a better world? Engineers Without Borders KTH is looking for a motivated student to lead The Reflective Engineer (TRE) Team during the upcoming academic year. It’s a great chance to shape a platform where students can reflect on the role of engineers in society, especially around sustainability and ethics.

As Head of TRE, you’ll be part of the Management Team and lead your own student group. A big part of the role is planning and running events - such as lunch lectures, workshops, and case nights. The role also includes handling logistics, coming up with outreach ideas, and recruiting new team members together with the Management Team.

This role suits someone who enjoys working with others, taking initiative, and motivating a team. No prior experience is needed! You’ll gain hands-on experience in leadership, project coordination, and event planning - all while being part of a fun and purpose-driven community.

We look forward to your application!

Minimum commitment

The workload is flexible and averages around 6 hours per week, including meetings, activities, and some admin. The role is split between work within the Management Team, work within your team, and staying in touch with partners. During May ’26, things are a bit slower, but you’re still expected to be available to take part in the handover from your predecessor and help gather lessons learned for the year ahead.

When and where the opportunity takes place

The role is based at KTH in Stockholm, with a combination of on-campus and remote work. The position runs during the academic year, with flexible working hours depending on meetings and partner interactions. Since we are recruiting the next generation of leaders at EWB KTH, you must have at least one academic year left at KTH after the current academic year. Note: EWB-KTH is a student-run organization and only accepts applications from current KTH students.
