Join Our Team and Spread Knowledge About Solar Cooking
About the Food Group
The Food Group, focusing on sustainable food production and processing, is one of five core competence groups within EWB Sweden (Engineers without borders Sweden). We work to increase awareness and use of solar cooking, a technique that can help reduce climate impact and improve the quality of life for people worldwide.
What We Are Looking For
We are seeking dedicated and long-term volunteers who want to contribute their time and talents to this important mission. Since solar cooking is a relatively new concept for many, you will initially need to study, learn, and discuss the topic with others in the group. Therefore, a long-term commitment and a willingness to learn are essential.
Your Background and Experience
Since we want to change people's habits, and topics are interdisciplinary. The basic skills you will need are engagement and devotion. You can also have experiences from an engineering field or science, such as food production, energy, thermodynamics or industrial design. However, other experiences such as community development, behavioral science, business or economics are also beneficial. Working/having worked in developing countries (eg South East Africa) is also valuable but not necessary.
Minimum commitment
All activities within the Food Group are voluntary and unpaid. We are looking for volunteers who can dedicate time and commitment to contribute long-term to the group’s mission. Working days/hrs are flexible, 2-4 hrs per week on average.
When and where the opportunity takes place
The work is primarily conducted remotely. Any physical meetings or activities will be announced in advance.
