Riksteaterförening wants help with set construction and heavy lifting!
Riksteaterföreningen söder om Söder organizes and makes performing arts accessible in the southern suburbs of Stockholm. We are now looking for more volunteers who would like to contribute to our activities!
As a volunteer, you help bring theatre, dance, circus, music performances, and much more to life, ensuring that the audience in Stockholm’s southern suburbs have an unforgettable experience. We are especially looking for people who would enjoy helping with set-up and heavy lifting. In this role, you will assist when a production arrives to build its stage set and/or after the performance when the set needs to be dismantled.
Please note that this assignment often involves heavy lifting, so you must be healthy, physically fit, and at least 18 years old. The position is unpaid, but you will have the opportunity to watch the performances you assist with.
Volunteering with us is a great opportunity to experience performing arts and meet other enthusiasts while making a valuable contribution to both the association and the audience.
The association organizes approximately 30 performances each year—15 in the spring and 15 in the autumn. You decide when you would like to help.

Minimum commitment
It usually takes about 1-4 hours to set-up the stage whilst dismantling the stage takes about 1-3 hours. You decide whether you want to help out with setting up, dismantling, or both. You also choose how many performances you would like to contribute to.
When and where the opportunity takes place
The performances are usually in week nights or during weekends which means that setting up and dismantling takes place in the morning or mid-day and late evening, depending on when the performance is. We arrange performances in four places: Bagarmossen, Hägersten, Älvsjö and Årsta. You choose yourself which place you would like to contribute to.
