Solidarity Rising

Western Sahara awareness raising at universities

Global awareness raising campaing about Western Sahara at universities

Solidarity Rising is currently running a campaign where we are centering Saharawi voices by organizing online lectures directly from the occupied territories and refugee camps at universities around the world and letting the Saharawi people tell their story in their words about Africa's last colony – Western Sahara.

By contacting university professors, student groups, and lecturers around the world and offering guest lectures, we are increasing knowledge and understanding of Western Sahara among students in all corners of the world.

At the end of the lectures, we encourage students to write their essays on Western Sahara and invite them to an international conference that we organize in the refugee camps every two years.

We need your help!

The work involves emailing universities in different countries to offer our lectures and coordinating the logistics surrounding the lectures.
