Would you like to support children who are in difficult situations?
At the Swedish Migration Agency return center in Märsta, we at Save the Children run a child-friendly space for children who need it the most. This is carried out as part of Save the Children’s AMIF-funded project “Safe Housing” (Trygga Boenden). We hold activities on Wednesdays from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, and we gather at 2:30 PM to prepare the activities.
We are a fantastic team of four staff members and several volunteers! We are now looking for more dedicated volunteers who can support us. As a volunteer, you will lead activities together with staff and other volunteers. You are responsible for ensuring that the space is safe and secure, inclusive, and stimulating.
Who is this for?
This role is suitable for someone who is empathetic, calm in their approach, and wants to contribute time and commitment to play and help create a safer and more enjoyable everyday life for the children living at the center. Experience in leading group activities for children is an advantage, but not required. It is also valuable if you have cultural awareness and can speak multiple languages.
What you will get:
As a volunteer, you will become a safe and important adult for children who need it the most. You will help create real, immediate change. You will also have access to training sessions, workshops, supervision, and guidance.
How to apply:
Submit an expression of interest where you briefly describe yourself, why you want to get involved, and your experience working with children.
