Being a volunteer at Stockholm International Film Festival puts you right in the center of the action at one of Europe’s leading film festivals. If you contribute your time and commitment, we give you the opportunity to experience the film world as an insider, and the chance to see a lot of films.

The festival takes place from 11th to the 22nd of November 2026, and is a great chance to gain experience for future work in events, service, and various cultural organizations and happenings. Each day at the festival is different, with new films, new tasks, and new audiences to welcome.

As a volunteer, you are an essential part of the festival’s execution, since much of our work is managed through voluntary efforts. Therefore, we offer our volunteers the opportunity to watch this year’s films with their individual volunteer pass (subject to availability). As a volunteer, you will get to know many wonderful people, build connections, and gain valuable experiences to bring with you into your future professional life.

Minimum commitment

How much do volunteers work? Each shift is usually between 3 and 6 hours, with shifts of 5 hours or more including a meal. How many shifts you work depends partly on how much you’d like to work. We ask that as an official volunteer you aim to be available for 5 shifts over the festival, but you can work more if you’d like to.

When and where the opportunity takes place

Volunteer work at the Stockholm International Film Festival takes place from November 11 to 22. The work is carried out at various cinemas and festival venues around central Stockholm. Exact times and locations vary depending on the assignment.
