Röda Korset Skellefteå
Teach someone to ride a bike!
As a volunteer, you help others learn how to ride a bicycle. Participants gain increased self-confidence and may even have a better chance of finding a job. Being able to cycle provides greater freedom and makes everyday life easier. The cycling school is also a great place to socialize and meet new friends.
- Organize and plan the cycling school
- Teach balance training and exercises
- Provide information about traffic rules and safety
- Find methods that make the cycling school rewarding for both volunteers and participants
- Help develop and spread information about the activity
Together with your volunteer leader, you will plan how often the cycling school will be held.
- You will receive training when you start
- You may also receive further training related to the assignment
- Be able to ride a bike and be in good physical condition
- Be good at communicating, and preferably speak more languages than Swedish and English
- Be supportive and emotionally present
- Be calm, confident, and curious about people
- Be flexible while also able to set boundaries
- Understand the Red Cross way of working and follow the guidelines

We are present in almost every country in the world. The work looks different in our municipality and across the globe, but the mission is the same no matter where we are – to work to prevent and alleviate human suffering in our world, wherever and whenever it occurs. You decide! Personal commitment is the lifeblood of our work. As a member or volunteer in any of the Red Cross activities, you take a stand for a more humane world. You give a small part of your time. With us, your time is transformed into meaning. Our activities: • First Aid • Handicrafts/Sewing group • Cooking and baking • Reuse and repair of electronics • Crisis preparedness • Second-hand shop • Sorting • Cycling Without Age • Open Wednesday • Friend in Skellefteå • • Or something else that you see a need for! Everything we do is about meeting local humanitarian needs in the municipality of Skellefteå in different ways. And the backbone of our work is voluntary engagement – that you, as a fellow human being, give your time. You are needed, and you can contribute in your own way!
