Do you want to help create the best medieval experience in the world?
Medieval Week on Gotland is the largest historical festival in the Nordic region, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year. This year’s festival runs August 2–9 with the theme of love. Volunteers are needed everywhere, and we welcome everyone—from beginners to pros.
As a
you’re the go-to person when things need to get done. You enjoy solving problems, staying flexible, and being quick on your feet. Tasks can include moving benches and tables, setting up or taking down tents and fences, helping market stalls, and handling all kinds of practical jobs that come up during the festival. If you like variety and don’t mind jumping in wherever needed, this role is for you.

Medieval Week offers a great sense of community, with a volunteer campsite, activities, and a base camp where you can relax and socialize around the campfire.

Minimum commitment
25 hours, divided between 4 and 8 shifts
When and where the opportunity takes place
During the festival, August 2-9th. 30 scenes in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Visby's church ruins, parks and on streets and squares with parades and activities.

Accessibility
Visby streets, parks and ruins and our built medieval arena have good accessibility based on the conditions. Some ruins and places are difficult to access with a wheelchair.
