Do you want to help create the best medieval experience in the world?
Medieval Week on Gotland is the largest historical festival in the Nordic region, attracting tens of thousands of visitors each year. This year’s theme is love. Volunteers are needed everywhere, and we welcome everyone—from enthusiastic beginners to experienced pros. The most important thing is that you want to take part!
During Week 33 (after the festival), you’ll help take everything down and restore the festival areas to their original state. This includes carrying, transporting, and dismantling the entire medieval setup. It’s physical work—but with plenty of laughs along the way.
As a Week 33 volunteer, you receive the same benefits as other volunteers during the festival. Medieval Week offers a strong sense of community, with a volunteer campsite, activities, and a base camp where you can relax, enjoy a coffee, and socialize around the campfire.

Minimum commitment
25 hours, divided into 4- 8 shift. Shift are around 8 hours long, including lunchbreak
When and where the opportunity takes place
After the festival, 10 - 16 of August. 30 scenes in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Visby's church ruins, parks and on streets and squares with parades and activities.

Accessibility
Visby streets, parks and ruins and our built medieval arena have good accessibility based on the conditions. Some ruins and places are difficult to access with a wheelchair.
