Engineers Without Borders Sweden is a volunteer-based organization. We focus on education, gender equality, access to energy, and clean water—working toward lasting change. As a volunteer-driven NGO, we draw on expertise from both industry and academia to address global inequalities.

General about WASH

Water and sanitation are central to sustainable development, yet human activity has created severe water stress worldwide. Today, 2.2 billion people lack safely managed drinking water, and over 4.2 billion lack safe sanitation (United Nations, n.d.).
The WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) competence team at EWB works toward SDG 6: “Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all.”
Our volunteer team leads international WASH projects and supports student-driven initiatives in the sector.

What is your role?

Lead and support a volunteer team on WASH projects.
Collaborate with other EWB teams to coordinate and share expertise.
Plan and manage resources within the team.
Ensure clear and effective communication within the team and across the organization.
Requirements
We’re seeking a self-driven individual with an engineering background, ideally in WASH-related fields (e.g., water/wastewater, environmental studies, geology, hydrology). You should be a team player with strong communication skills and a passion for making a difference.
Experience with Engineers Without Borders Sweden or similar organizations is a plus, but not required.
