Have you been wanting bigger LGBTQIA+ events in Uppsala? Do you want to create more safe spaces for the queer people of Uppsala to call home?

The RFSL Uppsala board of trustees is a hub for the people who want to care for the LGBTQIA+ community of Uppsala.

We are looking for people who are:

Reliable, and can regularly help out the coming year.
Have knowledge of RFSL Uppsala, or have experience with another branch of RFSL, or different queer organisation.
Can communicate clearly, work as a team, and structurally organize tasks with other people.

What sort of work will you be doing?

The board is responsible for the day to day decisions within the organisation. As such, you will be expected to attend the monthly board meetings, either in person in Uppsala, or online.
The board organizes the regular work, and often the irregular events, meaning that you will either plan events together with others, or you will communicate with volunteers and group leaders to make sure they have all the support they need.
All board members get one or more designated area(s), so if you have anything that you are passionate about (i.e. polyquestions, or queer-friendly sports), or a useful skill (i.e. social media, event planning, or economy), you will be responsible handling those questions. But, of course the board is doing everything as a team, so you're never alone in your work.

Minimum commitment

The board is elected for one year at a time. Regular board meetings about once per month and additional tasks assigned to the board. Tasks are shared equally among the board according to ability.

When and where the opportunity takes place

The board of RFSL Uppsala meets at RFSL's office space at Ljusbärargatan 2, Uppsala. There is always a possibility to join in online if needed. Most of the work can be done at any time, in any place, so you can match your schedule with what is most comfortable for you.

RFSL Uppsala är den lokala avdelningen av den nationella RFSL-organisationen som kämpar för homosexuellas, bisexuellas, transpersoners och queeras rättigheter i Sverige. Vårt fokus är att stödja hbtq personer i Uppsala genom att erbjuda en plats för stöd, aktivism och utbildning.
