Nomination open for RFSL Uppsala board

Hi!

The preparations for the RFSL Uppsala annual meeting are in full swing and we are looking for people who want to join us in keeping RFSL Uppsala active. The board is the heart of the organisation which makes sure all other activities can keep happening. So, do you like RFSL? Join us!

So, what does the board do? Some answers from current members of the board:

We stay in touch with the leaders of group activities and make sure they have what they need to keep their groups active. 

We think about what RFSL can do for LGBTQ+-people in Uppsala and advocate for their rights. 

We talk to the media and politicians to make sure our members perspectives are present in Uppsala municipality. 

We take care of our employees and make sure they have what they need to carry out their work to the fullest. 

We keep in touch with the national RFSL organisation for cooperation and knowledge exchange. 

Why join the board? Some answers from current board members: 

I really feel like I make a difference for our members. RFSL activities are important. 

I’ve made friends in the LGBTQ+ community and I feel welcome here. 

I’ve learned new useful skills. Planning, budgeting, cooperation and community building. 

I’ve joined the board! Now what?

Our job in the nomination committee is to make sure the board work is handed over to the new members smoothly. We will have team building with you and work shops to get you settled. 

All board posts are available for nomination. You can nominate yourself or someone you know. You can also nominate someone for several posts if you think they would be suitable. All personalities are important on the board and there is a role for everybody. The foundation in the board is for everybody to learn from each other and support each other. Are you good at writing? Photography? Graphic design? Do you have a good contact for activity spaces? Do you have the best cheerleading skills? Can you carry boxes? Sign up and join in!
